The EOS 500D is equipped with a range of image optimization features to further enhance the image quality. Peripheral Illumination Correction, the new feature first seen to high-end models, is effective in correcting the light fall-off at the image corners commonly found when shooting with wide-angle lens. 高光色調優先 = prevent highlight clipping, the dead white at 高光 area instead of gradation

反光鏡鎖定 = for taking super telephoto photos, as the vibration of the mirror can make the camera shake even it is mounted on a tripod

長曝消除noise = eliminate hot pixels (very rare in CANON), u can always turn it on

I am not CANON staff

"反光鏡lock" to prevent camera shake when taking photo with super telephotos such as 500mm. When u use above 400mm, even if u mount the camera+lenses on an expensive tripod, the vibration due to the mirror folding up will shake the lens. Without mirror lockup, our solution is to put heavy sandbag on top of the camera & lens to minimize vibration
