Forget about 10-20 unless u don't wanna spend $1000 more.

If $ is limited, buy tokina 12-24 instead of Sigma 10-20

if $ is not a problem, buy 10-22

When used on 500D or 50D, it gives very very good quality that can be compared with 5D mark 2 + 17-40/f4L

These four photos are taken with 50D+10-22 vs 5D2+17-40. U cannot easily tell which two is taken with 50D+10-22

Sigma 12-24mm F4.5-5.6 is also a good choice which could be used for APS-C and FF camera. Any comment for comparing with Canon 10-20mm F3.5-4.5?
