if the camera is totally new, u can assume it is ok.

1. When u insert the battery into the camera, a totally new camera will require u set the time and day.

2. check shutter count (should be 0)

3. check dead dot (manual mode, take a totally overexposed white & a totally underexposed black)

4. check focusing if come with kit lens
