Hi,
Apparently Canon relaunches S-series in view of the success of LX3. But it seems the specs between G11 & S90 are pretty close. What do you think about Canon's strategy in this aspect? What's your choice between these 2 pro-DCs? Thanks.

Hi Obi-Wan ching, could you elaborate a bit more? In fact I heard that many LX3 users are very satisfied with this gear but unfortunately I don't have chance to try that.

If you are after a full featured DC and don't mind its heavier weight, go for G11.

If you want a real compact DC but still with manual capability but don't mind the shorter range at tele end, then go for S90. Better still, S90 has faster and brighter lens with f/2.0 at wide end.

If the buyer choose between G-series and S-series (before and now), larger sensor, RAW capture, more manual control is their reason.

If the street price drop 15% around x'mas (release two month already), S90 will replace my old S70 for a better low light photos. (p.s. S70 is still a great dc when taking outdoor photo)

初步睇G11沒什麼驚喜, 並唔期望高ISO既noise會控制得好好, 始終係CCD sensor, 某程度上G10還好
反而S90既重量比G11輕一半, 一樣可以影RAW, 外型都唔錯, 幾似LX3

不過小弟覺得買LX3不如貴少少買Leica D-Lux 4, 畢竟買LX3既動機都係外型佔主要考慮因素, 既然買外型, 就買Lecia啦, 型好多
