小弟用40D，想入手5D Mark II，但又見到7D好似幾Good咁，請問5D Mark II既C hing有咩見解，因為我見5D Mark II既用家有讚有彈，又話佢係吸塵機咁，又有d c hing叫我買部二手5D一代算數，其實有咩大分別呢？？

5D2 & 7D are target for quite different customers, 5D2 is for landscape or portrait photos, 40D, 50D & 7D are designed for action photos.

I have 5D2 & 50D. For most cases, I use 50D because I don't need too high resolution. I need high focusing speed, short shutter lag & response.

My point of view is always purchase newer technology camera in order to prevent any hesitation later.
I owned both machine and I really enjoy 40D for the speed and APS CMOS, especially shooting sport and bird photos. I will believe 7D will give me the same or maybe better photos.
Secondly, 5D mk II is an all around FF camera in terms of Picture Quality and ease of use. The dust issue is really depends on how you use and maintain your camera. Bigger CMOS of course have more chance to attract dust then APS camera.
In conclusion, I'll owned both 40D or 7D and 5d mkII for different kind of photos shooting.

Judging from the samples on the web, I'd not buy 7D ... I can only accept its ISO800 shots but not >ISO1600 ... too noisy and too much smearing of details

on the other hand, ISO4000 on 5DII is still more than usable, and I have absolutely no complaint about the ISO3200 shots

FF is another territory ... and honestly a bit difficult to master, but if you can, you won't go back to APS

if you need to shoot action pics, 50D should be a better choice than 7D

the only advantages of 7D over 50D is the built-in ST-E2 functionality and the 100% 1x viewfinder coverage

My 5D mk 2 doesn't have dust in VF and sensor. May be this is due to I'm not using as much as other ching. The 3.9 pictures per second speed is good enough for me as casual photographer. I can take continuous pictures of a flying bird with 70-200mm f2.8 or my kid running in sports day without any problem. Picture quality is excellent even in ISO1600 with noise reduction turned off.

The only thing that I'm not satisfied is the old 9 points focusing system. It is not as flexible as 15 points.

I have been using canon for more than 10 years.

film: eos 1000, eos 5, eos 1v;
digital: 300D, 20D, 1D, 30D, 40D, 5D, 5DII;

I am a freelance wedding and event photogs, 5DII is my work horse and it is enough for me for the 5 more years ahead.

Image quality is the best among others cameras i have used so far

noise control is good, allowing me to shoot at low light with large aperture lenses. (i can't imagine that i can take pics at 6400 iso at a party year before)

The skin tone of 5DII image is pleasing.

Image quality is very best amoong others in post-processing production.

Totally no regret to get it.

Agreed, but if you take mainly landscape or portrait photos, then it is not such a big handicap.

In an ideal world, one may have more than 1 DSLR camera to cater for different situations, so ideally, you should have both 7D and 5D2. However, if you are like me, just an amateur photographer who wants to take photos on family and landscape during holidays, then if you ask me to choose one, I will pick 5D2 because :

1) I don't need the speed;
2) if I buy 7D, I will always wonder if the picture quality is not as good as 5D2

如果錢唔係問題，我會買哂兩部。

如果只揀一部，而我又喜歡拍攝運動、雀鳥及演唱會，我會買 7D，反之 5D2。

如果要就住使，我會買 7D，重有餘錢買鏡。

我同樓主一樣 40D 起家, 二個月前買左5D2,用落真系有UPGRADE GE 感覺.
7D SPEC 19 AF 系 好大進步, 等出左再算啦!
