I have EF-S 18-200 IS using on my 50D and 7D it is great. I also have TAMON 28-300 VR, for use on 5DMark II, it is terible, lots of distortion and color is bad. So I suggest to use Canon's own EF-S 18-200. Moreover, using the Canon's lens can have automatic corrections for distortion, color and vignetting in DPP when shooting at RAW, which is not if using others suppliers lens.

I am deeply in love with the CANON EFS 18-200IS. I use it much more often than with my 5D2+24-105IS.

Suggestion, the quality of the lens is so-so when open wide with the jpeg. If u shoot RAW & process in DPP to correct the lens defect, the quality of the lens is quite acceptable in the range of 18-80 & 150-200 even when open wide.

Seems most zoom lens has better quality in their mid range zoom, but upon your comment on 18-200, it seems the lens construction is not following the old rules.

Since many ppl uses zoom at its widest & most tele ends frequently, now some manufacture concentrate the performance at both ends
