I have been using a Canon 400D with a Sigma 18-200mm OS lens for less than a year. I am now thinking of selling the Sigma lens to buy the new Canon 18-200 IS lens which costs $4800. But I also found that a Canon 450D bundled with the Canon 18-200 IS only cost around $8800, so the camera comes out to just $4000. Does anyone think it is worthwhile to upgrade both the camera and the lens, or should I just get the lens for now?

i will not suggest you to do so...
their quality are more or less the same, and i don't think those minor difference worth 4k

It is true that the differences between the 400D and 450D are not worth $4000, but if I sell the 400D for $2000+, then the camera upgrade itself would cost less than $2000. Would that be worth it?

Why not upgrade to 40D and now is the best time. Low price!!

I use the camera mostly when I travel, and 40D/50D is too large for me for that purpose. Actually I thought about switching to Nikon D90, but that's more expensive as well as larger/heavier than 450D...
