I've been the show room today and the professional assistance suggest me to choose this set to suit my needs( taking photo of my active BB):
500D body + EF-S 18-135mm f3.5-5.6 IS +EF 50mm f/1.4 USM
He explain to me patiencely and his service provided is really professional.
C hing, how would you weight this setting?

I have a short test on my friend's 18-135, this new lens is cheap and I was suprised how good in focus speed (no usm though), IS effectiveness, handling, build quality and out look/ size in this price range.
For active baby, I would suggest you 50D instead of 500D because the 50D have the 9 point cross type AF sensors which make you easier to your baby's action shot.

For BB sigma 50.4 is better!

50D個廣告是用在非洲映獵豹,BB边有跑得咁怏啊,500D對焦和連拍都卓卓有餘,還有500D可以拍MOVIE.

cy001, 可能你不明白了, BB 是在近距離走動的, 相對一架747飛機在遠處飛過還要快一百倍. 鏡頭的對焦環對飛機飛過來只須轉勳0.1-1mm左右, 但近距離對住BB走過來個對焦環須轉勳5-10mm!
當然500D 一樣卓卓有餘, 只係無50D 或 7D之類咁易啫.
