580 over 430II

pros
1. ETTL master and slave
2. Manual master control slave
3. Multi-flash
4. also 1 stop higher output.

cons
1. without waterproof
2. larger size and bit heavier


if you have 7D, then 580 is much less value as 7D can control external flash just without manually control external flash

I believe the user[aka my bro] is using a 5D and/or 5D2
with one 24-105.
He has no desire to "upgrade" his cam body in the near future.
