Last time I tried my friend's Sigma 12-24, the wide angle effect is very very good.

But the copy he got is sharp on one side & soft on the other, after I told this fact to him, he sold his s12-24

1. u can easily check this symptom by taking picture of flat object such as newspaper (of course the plane of the object must be more or less parallel to the sensor plane)
2. better using flash, e.g. bounce flash on newspaper indoor
3. shoot with different aperature
4. turn the object 180° to check
