which one is better for bird shooting?

I am using 7D and any C-hing can give me advice? tks!

我用緊大白... EF 100-400mm f4.5-5.6L!!!
因為機動性大... 易搵雀... 有IS (雖然得兩級)... 中央成像拍得住456... 邊位就一定冇定焦咁正... 但係多數都光圈全開(或者收一兩級)... 而且用crop 機所以唔係太大影響...

heard that overall PQ with 1.4x is better than using 2.0x, right?

Just my peronal opinion, I used to have SSWIS with 1.4x, but now changed to 100-400. I don't think the picture quality of SSWIS with 1.4x is better than 100-400. SSWIS is very good on its own, but once you add 1.4x to it, the pq drops rapidly.

Since Wombat88 c-hing already has SSWIS and he knows what he needs the lens for, then I think 456 is your better choice.

456 is cheaper and better in picture quality. But you need to use a tripod or a monopod if there is in low light environment.

我有kenko1.4及2x, 1.4x用於7d重有兩側區域af,勉強可以影下移動物, 而2x就無af,只可用黎影固定物.我提議增培鏡用在L定焦鏡效果會比ZOOM鏡好D,因為L定焦解像能力會高D.
