Hi everyone

I am trying to do the noise reduction by using DPP, what are Luminance and Chrominance noises?

I am trying to reduce the noise for an indoor portrait photo by adjusting the Luminance from 2 to 19 and Chrominance from 5 to 19.

Sure the noise reduced but the face looks so "plastic"

Wonder how other C hing do your noise reduction?

IMHO, DPP can cancel out the Luminance Noise easily by pushing it to 3.
You can see a huge different from 2 to 3.
To avoid plastic feel, I limit the Luminance Noise Reduction under 4.

Althought I still don't know what is Luminance and Chrominance and their co-relationship.
