Dear all,

I am planning to buy a lens for my 450D. Buget is under HKD $4000.
I have 3 lens now, I will bring 1 of them and with the new lens for travelling in Jan
EF-S 18-55mm F3.5-5.6 IS Kit Lens
FF 50mm F1.8 II
EF-S 55-250mm F4-5.6 IS

There are 4 choice, very hard to choose

1. Sigma 30mm F1.4 EX DC HSM ( best PQ but maybe not enought zoom range for travel )
2. Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 EX DC MACRO ( can replace my Kit lens )
3. Sigma 24-70mm F2.8 EX DG MACRO ( more tele but not enough wide , but DG series can use in FF )
4. Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4 DC OS MACRO HSM ( new lens have OS and HSM but not EX series , very concern about the PQ not as good as the EX F2.8 series. )

Other any suggestion for me , many thanks.

Choice 3 係唔錯的選擇,不過sigma 24-70可以4千以下買到咩?你本身3枝鏡夠影travel,不如追求成像啦,sigma 30 1.4幾好或者可以考慮下canon 35 f2。

Sigma 24-70 EX DG MACRO is under 4K .

Sigma 24-70 EX DG HSM is over 6K .

Since the buget problem, I will not but the HSM version. BTW, how about the PQ of these 2 , with and without HSM version ?

I am in the exact position like you using 450D with 3 other Canon lens. I would wonder what do you choose at the end and what is it like with the picture quality? As I have seen other C Hing here said the sigma lens may not "match" the camera and requires calibration.

可能覺得好好笑 !

我從朋友手中收了一枝 Canon EF 28-200mm F3.5-5.6 USM ( 因為價錢算平 ) , 將會賣出現在手上之 18-55 及 55-250 .

以及將會買入 Sigma 30mm F1.4 .

去旅行就帶 28-200 及 30.4 去. 28-200 户外光線足時用 , 30.4 就可以室內或光線不足時作 snap shoot.

當然會缺了超廣角之焦段, 但與太太兩人相信28都會足夠

Sell your 18-55 IS and 50.8 II and
got the Sigma 17-70 F2.8-4 DC OS MACRO HSM (or even the old ver with out OS) + Sigma 30.4 or EF 35 f2

SIGMA個枝好似都係3000幾
O岩BUDGET WOR
