yes, 50D a lot more sharper than 450D , but its also a lot heavy than 450D

No la, Just spended over $20K for this past couple month (aug-nov) just to purchase these toys (body, lens + other acessary).
Beside, u never know what will happen to us next year (I mean the Market). So, I have no plan to buying the 5D Mark II

yes own them both. First I purchased the 450D kit only. But after a while, the 50D came out.
After my consideration & knowing some technique from using 450D. Than I purchase 50D body only since i have lens n other stuffs.

Tried on 17-40L with 450D at a Karaoke. they are perfect

no, 17-40L it is hong goods. Purchased at Second in Sept 08 for $4100 still under warrantly till Dec 08

I tried the 17-40L w/450D at a karaoke w/wo 430EX, it came out good.(this is with the 17-40L w/450D)

As for the 17-85 w/50D, I have not it on the same situation. But used on the Peak last week & came out fine. No photo available yet
