If you can buy(have buget) the 500d, chose the lower 450d or 1000d can save more money(buy the body only).Then chose the lens which are better is the best way(godd lens can take the beautifull photos).
Another way,if you have money then must buy the 7d,because 7d can take the fast pictures and good pictures by the Cannon new Auto Focus system. To use the 7d is much much more better,because it is nearest to the professional 5d and 1d also.They only have the difference between full frame or not .But 7d can have more lens for choice, and 5d or 1d were using the full frame lens (they are so expensive)!
7d was more and more expensive than the 500d ,and the model is also higher! So, depends on you want it for a period or long term . Now 7d is the best choice for long term!!

如果對 photography 這興趣已是肯定, 一定出中階機,
450D, 500D 只是入門級, 好快就會想升級
除非 size does matter
不錯鏡是永恆的, 可以一邊玩影相一邊配適用鏡頭
機身嘛, 雖然 depreciate 得快, 最少要玩到兩三年 (若只是作為興趣)
好似我, 08年6月入左450D, 過往7-8個月多不繼係5D2&7D之間左想又想,
如果當日肯定D, 乾脆入40D, 以上既思想掙扎可以拖多一年半載

買7d，整個系統好有1系feel，又有內罝飛燈，追焦又有靈敏度控制，整部機好玩好多，如果你買50d，要有心理準備，它也快停產。
