CANON 500D跟以下那一舍組合比組好
組合(一)
Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM
Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM
Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM
Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM


組合(二)
Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM
Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM
Canon Extender EF 1.4X II
Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM
Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM
用係500D到17-40MM會變左約27-64MM,但如果加左Extender EF 1.4X II就會變左約38-90MM,而個Extender EF 1.4X II又可以裝落去個70-200MM到用, 唔知道大家會點面揀呢?

Here is the compatibility chart for 1.4x extender. As Ison said the extender does not work with every lens and also have negative impact to f-stop, AF and quality. I have a 2x extender. While it is one viable option to extend the focal length, I try to avoid as much as I can.

So it seems like the different between the two sets of lenses is:

Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM
vs.
Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM
Canon Extender EF 1.4X II

Not sure whether you have any specific needs or preferences but those are great selections. Given the cost of Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM is similar to the Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L, have you considered that to go along with your other lens choices?

So my opinion is 組合(一) with 24-70mm f/2.8L if possible.
