anyone can explain what is meant by "Standard exposure index" in page 81?
when the exposure level mark moves, what does that imply?

Also, at page 70, what is meant by "Maximum burst"?

意思係話你知 , E 個快門 + ISO + 光圈 下, 如果 個標記指住e 個位, 佢就係認為曝光OK , 偏左 / 右 即係佢認為偏暗 / 偏光.

Maximum Burst = 最大連續拍攝數量
即係如果你係咁拍唔俾佢停, 咁佢最多可以影到幾多張
這數字是受相機buffer, Digi IV 的處理速度, internal transfer rate, 張相幾大張, memory card 夠唔夠快 影響的

To my interpretation, Standard Exposure Index in page 81 means the camera's metering value, which is always appears in the middle of the Exposure Level Indicator (page 18), and of course you can see the mark moves to the right or left from the centre when you change the shutter speed or the aperture opening.

The no. of maximum burst is the no. of photos you can take in pressing the shutter release button at any one time. (i.e. from the table in page 70, if you press the button without releasing it, it can take 9 raw files at a time, then you have to release your finger and press again after the files had transferred into the SD card).

So if use M mode, do I have to make sure the exposure level indicator must be always at the centre? I thought if too bright or too dark, the aperture or the shutter speed at the viewfinder will blink?

So max burst has not much use? I am using JPG at the moment, I won't press the button to take 170 photos at one time?

Ah, another question is I am using JPG but the resolution (I mean no. of pixels are too much), I always have to use software like DPP and Zoom Browser to trim down the photos one by one. Is there anywhere at 500D that I can set its max number of pixels?

講過是相機認為曝光足夠 ....
但佢會計錯數 / 不合你意
所以都係試幾張, 睇結果, 再較, 再看結果

你指個size ? menu -> 第一頁 -> 有得較個解象度 , 較去 M / S, 咁就細d
但問題係 ... 點解你要幅幅都要較size ?? 張相越大越唔好 ???

或者你可以用photoshop 的batch 功能, 將一個folder d 相 做batch resize

On page 70, for both L high quality, and RAW high quality, it said the pixels is 15M. So this means how much x how much pixels?

HD is only 1920×1080 pixels, so no point to have photos than this, am I right? Also large photos can be troublesome to send to friends via email and upload to facebook?

So what's the normal practice?

所以我會留底一份, 跟住要UPLOAD 上網就用PS save 一次 (JPG level 8), 幅相已經由 5MB 壓成< 1MB, 先upload 上去就快d

近排就開始將所有相壓成JPG Lvl 8, 用黎慳位, 有人鍾意level 10 / 12 lo

it's just an indication calculated by the camera's computer, which may be fooled by the environment (of complicate light sources etc.)
