小弟本身很滿意原厰支 50.8，另一方面又無法買得起支50f1.2，唯有問下各ching 支副厰 50.4 會吾會可以以比較負擔得起的價錢來比到明顯的效果！thanks!

Sigma 50 1.4 is a very good lens, better than Canon 50 1.4 but more expensive.

The main difference is in the bokeh and the color tone. 50.8 is sharp but it is a bit "gray" in terms of color saturation. The color from 50.4 is far richer than 50.8.

just if CHing doesn't feel any difference between these, then it is a good thing and need not spend extra money :D

You will see a big difference between Canon 50mm/F1.8 & Sigma 50mm /F1.4 if you put it on 5D Mark II.

do you think it shows an obvious improvement in sharpness and contrast too?
these qualities would be more interesting to me although bokeh and saturation are lovely too!

i am having it on a 50D.
upgrading to FF will be a long term ultimate target, so a Sigma DG lens should make sense. Of cos i hope it also shows the difference on APS-C too!

今朝看過有條 link 話支 S50.4 實際上係 45.55mm F1.29（條 link 找吳返)，即係聼有d ching 講話覺得S50.4 比 C50.4 大左大約0.3級光圈，聼落真係吸引！！我 plot 左個 graph 看看，F1.29 大約係大過 F1.8 差吳多0.9級光圈！嘩！吳知堅定流，係就流曬口水！...最好都係聼下呢度d ching 比多d 意見！謝謝！

I recently made my decision on buying the Sigma f1.4. I have been using the Canon 50mm f/1.8 for 3 years. I was quite satify with this lens until I bought my Voigtlander 50mm 1.4 for my R3. I suddenly feel the different of bokeh in 1.4 and 1.8 and the creativity of narrow DOF. Therefore, I start my reseach for my DSLR. At the end, I make my decision just like many Ching said. You don't have enough money go for 1.2, Sigma 1.4 will worth the money to invest compare to Canon 1.4.

My impression for Sigma 1.4 is "Is it a Nikon Lens?"
A very solid built lens...Produce high contrast picture.
The bokeh is much softer then the Canon 1.8.
After use it for a few weeks, I just love this lens.

Like my Nikon friend said, no matter whihc brand you are using. 50mm 1.8 is always the first prime for most shooter. But it is just a beginning....

如果CHing只係睇contrast我都諗係冇乜分別, 但係佢(S50.4)1.4可用, 2.0已經係利, C50.8要收到2.8先利...

S50.4 and C50.8最大既分別, 係個bokeh, 同O的顏色, 係好好好好好好多... (同C50.8比) 如果CHing只睇sharpness... 我諗都係唔好換了... 因為唔係"obvious" in terms of sharpness...

S50.4那個bokeh同C50.8比, 真係天堂同凡間之別
