Canon will always wait for Nikon or other brands with similar level camera/len to release. So if you hear any new release of Nikon camera, that means Canon will release soon.

60D will not better than 7D, the spec of 60D is very difficult to set up. I think the CMOS same as 550D, but the AF Points will remain 9 AF points and will not have dual Digic 4. Simply, it is 550D with more continous shooting speed and metal body only.
