"前清後蒙" --- I believe if you know the photo basic theory, you can achieve "前清後蒙" to highlight the object by any DC with easy setting (i.e. M, AV or P model, with small f no. under safety shutter speed without hand shock.)

SX210IS has max. f/3.1 (W) – f/5.9 (T). If you really want to have "前清後蒙" at indoor, pls consider S90 with f/2.0 - f/4.9 (T).

But frankly say, it is true that how "Sharp" 前清 and how blur " 後蒙" are more rely on the lens' aperture vs DOF (depth of field).

Surely, a 50mm f.1.8 or lower f no. lens can easy make "前清後蒙" in indoor. But a 200mm f 5.6 lens can also make "前清後蒙" in outdoor. (using uni-pod to avoid hand shock.

It is matter of how you adjust the DOF by your camera setting under different situation and photo object.

你所指的"前清後蒙"可能是指淺景深,一般來說:影響景深有3個因素:
1.光圈大(細光圈值)------>淺景深
2.長焦距-------------------->淺景深
3.相機與被攝者距離短-->淺景深
如果要影"前清後蒙"的相,就要盡量附合以上要求。

1. 光圈大(細光圈值), for DC like SX210 the aperture isn't large especially in small DC sensor ----> not affecting the effect much
2. 長焦距, tele focal length in DC is something like 24mm....... this infact a short focal length in DSLR -------> not much difference for 6mm and 24mm
3. 相機與被攝者距離短, this is the biggest factor contributing to your 前清後蒙, but it has to be very close indeed.
