昨天晨早開電腦, 部機bb聲噤叫, 仲自動boot機, 嚇到我飛落黃金買左部外置harddisk(之前仲唸住遲d先買), 抽反d相出黎.

我部係seagate 1TB, 裝完之後佢有個window做setting啦, 同步啦, 比部PC backup之類, 其他咩都無啦. 想問下ching, 你d放相入外置harddisk時, 係咪自己係hardisk 度開個file張d copy and paste就得啦?? 好似手指噤用就得啦?

旦凡重要file都要有backup，就算冇backup，storage file既hd都要行RAID 1 或RAID 5。
如果你得一隻hd儲相，無論係外置或內置，危險性都係一樣，死咗就冇.....

應該最少要有兩個copy，定時做同步，用software 自動同步就方便好多。兩個copy亦唔好放在同一部電腦內。

If I have two external harddisk, any program that 同步 them at a time ?

外置HD大部份都係同有指用法一樣, 但SEAGATE新款既HD會跟一個SOFTWARE, 係BOOT UP隻HD既時候會開, 建議CHING最好不要開, 再複製檔案.

另外有關相片BACKUP問題, 我自己就會先炒落部電腦度先, 每隔一段時間就會BACKUP去NAS, 至於隻NAS又會用一隻EXT. HD定時做BACKUP.

如果要同步software，Allway Sync係唔錯，我自己都有用。有免費版，但限制咗sync file既容量。建議不如買完全版，都係幾百蚊，係一個好有用既software。

For Mac do you not use Time Machine for backup assuming you are on OS X.

Not sure whether it is available in HK, I use an network based external backup service (www.backblaze.com) where I backup all my files automatically and remotely over the Internet. It is about $5 USD a month with unlimited storage and restore. I now have about 1/4 TB being backup now and can access any older versions for up to 4 weeks old.

Really a peace of mind.

I am a junior on Mac, I have time machine on mac, but can it backup files from ext harddisk no.1 to ext harddisk no.2?

I never heard of the web storage service in HK (there might be but I just dunno it)

I have not tried using time machine to back up files from one ext hard disk to another ext hard disk. My guess will be no but I can't verify either.

Yes what you described is exactly what I meant by accessing older files even it has been deleted or changed in your home computer.
