My limited experience with 微距:

- Use Tripod
- Use mirror lock up
- Use Live View 5x/10x for focusing
- Use manual focus over auto focus
- Use a reflector to block Sun or wind if nothing else
- Take advantage of DOF
- Sharpness is only one thing and not everything
- Good lighting is very very important specially for flowers. I like morning and late afternoon light.
- Bring a water spray bottle with you.
- For flowers, try different angles. Don't be afraid to get dirty.

Forgot one important thing.

- Use shutter release or use 2 second self-timer if not available

As you can see in general the challenges are focusing and camera shake.

個人exp.
我常常影小昆蟲 和 蝴蝶. 好少用到腳架. 因為極之不方便.
他們的速度都好高. 並不會乖乖等你 set 設備.
腳架可以免了.
反而練習呼吸 穩住身子 減少左搖右擺. 會更好.
個人設定
ISO 200, F13 快門 1/160 點測光 用閃.
這個設家 令我用虫仔園 都閃了不用滿意相片.
除 半空中背光蜘蛛, 1米半以外的蜥蝪仔, 極黑會反光的黑蟻
這3種就要改變一下.

說明書有說如作微距拍攝,用AI Servo AF及自動對焦,效果會好D,我也試過,真是有效,由相機去追焦,Ching可以一試

一般情況下影微距mf收細光團F.10以上係想深景深....大光團打得隻眼黎對翼又blur晒...落閃係補光或制造意景.....^^

I should have said this earlier, some of the practices I mentioned were for 花and may not apply to 昆蟲. With macro on flowers one common issue is the flowers may come out too "flat". A reflector will help you to better manipulate the light to create the layers whether they are highlight or shadow. Same for DOF.

With my Canon 180mm lens I don't have much luck with auto focus.
