Have you cleaned your sensor lately? Some recommends cleaning it every month but it may be a bit too much for me given my usage pattern. I plan to start with every other month and as-needed basis. Sure you can take it to the service center for the professional to clean it for a fee but I found it is really not that hard to do it myself. Scare touching your sensor? Me too in the beginning but I think I have gotten over it now. Do need to be very carefully if you decide to do this yourself.

The right tool is very important and this is my pick: Air blaster (you should have one already), Sensor Swab from Photographic Solutions (I use type 3 for the size of my FF sensor. There are different type for APS-C and H), Eclipse solution from the same swab company. And no this is not a commercial.



Here is the video on how to do it. You will need your battery fully charged before the camera would open up the mirror for you to clean. Good luck and happy cleaning.

yes it's quite scary to sweep over the sensor with such a strong pressure!
