How do you use Custom Shooting mode? Post time: 6 月 8 日 |

Many cameras offer Custom Shooting modes in addition to the usual Auto, Shutter priority, Aperture priority, Manual etc. For example, in 7D and 5D Mark II there are three (C1, C2 and C3). They are also called Camera User Settings in some references. I wonder what do you use them for?
Currently I have C1 set for Macro and C2 set for studio light tent. The two settings are very similar except for WB (Daylight for Macro and Color Temperature 5100K for my lighting kit) and a few others. The key setting for these two is I have live view set for still image only. This way I am not limited to shutter speed of 1/30 or faster (or whatever your chosen video frame rate) when using live view for 5x/10x focusing. I think I could use C3 for night shooting too.
Would like to hear how you use yours.
