But you have to prepare for a sensor clean after the trip, coz lots of dust/sand will get inside your DSLR.

Depending on how many dust spot you have in your camera. which camera you are using?

If it is not dust seal properly, then you should be seeing lots of dust/sand spot after the trip.

a few tricks:
- Never hang your camera on the neck if not using. If you are walking around, use sandwich bag
- Never change lens outdoor
- Try to avoid zooming if your lens going to move front and back, as it will suck sand in. (Prime lens make things easier)
- Not to shoot a sand storm outdoor =p

I was talking about the sensor cleaning in the CS.

沙漠也不是經常刮起大風沙的。就算你特別幸運，祇要背著風站立停止拍攝片刻便行。

If you go to typical tourist spots, there shouldn't be much chance of encountering high wind. During my trip to Egypt, I went to the group of oldest pyramids not frequented by most tourists and a bit further into the desert comparing to the big threes. Even there wasn't any wind/sand problem all. So, don't worry as long as you don't drop your equipment into the sand.

Some lenses are particularly venerable to dust/ sand, Ching please check user's comments on your lenses in DCFEVER and pick up a right lenses.

if you are using 18-105, you should be preparing for some sands getting in your lens & body.

Coz the front element of the lens is coming in and out when you are zooming. That means every time you zoom, the lens is like sucking in sand into the lens. That's the nature of zoom lens.

焦段應該足夠了，畢竟在埃及用長焦距鏡的機會不多。

可能的話可帶備一支大光圈廣角鏡或標準鏡，因為在埃及博物館或墓穴頗多珍品，大光圈較為有利。

帶備重型腳架更好，但可不可以使用就要看你夠唔夠靚仔了！
