which 85mm lens should I buy for best portrait phototaking?

For an APSC camera, you may also consider Sigma 50mm 1.4. After 1.5 times conversion, it seems more handy than a 85mm lens. Cost wise, it will be much lower than (half) the two choices you mentioned.

F1.4 has much better picture quality. If you buy 1.8, in future you may still want to upgrade. I am using S50.4 (on FF) and quite happy with it.

Thanks, 我之前上moblie01 睇過1.4 & 1.8 的比較.
- F1.4真的是圓形散景.
-F1.8的多邊形也不算明顯

S記同N記既鏡係好多同款鏡既測試都各有各好
特別係大家係唔同光圈下各有勝過對方之處
對我黎講兩者最大分別除左$$之外，
S記鏡係濃色同實色d，N記高級鏡係自然d同淡色d，
睇你自己喜好，各有各好

除此之外就係抗絃光力，無疑係N記做得好出色
但個金圈同個金色N字牌值唔值花多幾k野就自己決定

仲有樣野就係S記要去CS cal 鏡囉，兩年內都唔洗$

The Sigma 50.4 I am using only costs $3,xxx. The 6,xxx you mentioned was N85.4D?

I use the S50.4 with D700 and never needed to cal. In fact I took the lens to Sigma CS and they checked and confirmed the focusing is spot on for my D700.

Yes Sigma 85mm F1.4 should be a very good lens. In terms of price performance, S 50mm F1.4 is a good choice.

但實際用黎影人像 F2 已經可以好sharp，眼睫毛一條條show晒出黎
