D鏡全部係AF例如AF50F1.8D AF85F1.4D呢的鏡靠機身麼打推動作自動對焦，而G鏡全部有AFS即係有超聲波麼打對焦快速而寧靜，例如AFS24一70F2.8GED AFS85F1.4G AFS24F1.4GED，全部靠本身麼打推動，就算入門機冇機身麽打都可以快速自動對焦。

D lenses are earlier lenses which let the camera know the distance at which the lens is focused. The distance information lets the newest cameras get the correct flash exposure. D lenses can be either traditional AF (lenses without motor) or AF-S (lenses with motor), and may or may not have VR.

G lenses are newer lenses which have been crippled by removing their aperture rings to save cost. This is a classic example of taking away features while making customers think they are getting something new. G is not a feature, G is a handicap. G stands for gelded. The G lenses (i.e. lenses without no aperture ring) mean that they will not work on manual focus cameras since there is no way to set the aperture. G lenses can be either traditional AF (lenses without motor) or AF-S (lenses with motor), and may or may not have VR.

G lenses are also D. That is to say, all G lenses can also let the camera know the distance at which the lens is focused.

D鏡有光圈環, G鏡無!
MOTOR問題是AF同AFS之分, AF鏡身無MOTOR, AFS鏡身有MOTOR!

最平支AF 70-300G就是無光圈環同無MOTOR了!

AF-n -> 有光圈環, 冇distance information輸出(配合閃燈)
(二手區中所謂non-D就是這類)

AF-D -> 有光圈環, 有distance information輸出配合閃燈(以下G同AF-S通通都有, 以後Nikkor鏡頭必備品)

G -> 冇光圈環

AF-S -> 有SWM鏡身摩打

Back in film generation, we only can adjust aperture by aperture ring. Because old generation of film camera is full mechanical device which not able to adjust aperture with the camera.

Then the in late 90s,Nikon started to have film SLR with electronics inserted. And able to adjust aperture ring with the camera, so Nikon start making "G" lens which is reduced aperture ring to achieve lower cost and price.

In other words, G lenses cannot be used with old manual and AF film SLR cameras, which contradicts with Nikon long-standing principle of backward compatibility.

樓主真係要多謝上面影友回答，起碼知道乜野0岩乜野錯，硬係唔明點解有d人鍾意按鐘搶答，但個答案離x晒譜！成日以為知少少就可以做代表，買機送技術，買鏡送構圖，真係九唔搭八！呢個post佢都要多謝樓主添，甚至要請食飯啦！入晒錢入佢袋！起碼佢0係d friend面前又有得吹喇！
