剛從5d mark II 轉去D700 比較緊Iso noise 發現d700 noise control 比預期差少少。5D好小小。大家都係用24_70，iso 2500，同一環境下。5d好d. 有無ching 比較過？比d意見

I've done something similar and my result is D700 is way better than 5Dm2, both with VR on and off.

Also there are lots of reviews on the internet showing similar result of my stand.

I am not a real science person, but I know that this is true. Considering the same full frame sensor size, Canon is fitting more pixel on the same size sensor plate, actually almost like a double to Nikon.

Effect is the more pixels are putting on a sensor, the less light sensitive it is. Also that means the higher the noise level.

Feel free to research on Pixel Density and Noise, you will see the relationship between them.


I am working full time and compared cameras with colleague, but my experience is D700 has the best high ISO performance company to the same level of cameras from other brand.

What sort of setting you have on your camera? Like ISO, aperture and shutter?

Oh ... also are you using similar sort of lens as well? say comparing 24-70 f/2.8 at the same time?

let's share some setting and maybe I can point you to the right direction.

it's more like a fact that D700 has better ISO when comparing to 5D mark II ;)

Actually I use the same setting with 5d and d700, lens use 24-70, a3.2 about 1/50-1/100. All turn off the noise reduction function, all photo at same location , my home , all IsO is 3200 or 2500

Is that possible for you to put up the two images here, so we can have a quick look on it?

Just to give you a good hint.

You should forget about 1/50 especially when you are taking photos of kid.

I am assuming for the setting provided above, you are not using flash, right?

Try to stay within the safety shutter speed for a stable sharp photo. Also another thing is it tends to require a higher shutter speed to freeze the unexpected movement from the kid

actually

a good picture are depend on good light enviroment

show i love taking picture when sun light

i will say when enough light 5d2 is far away better than d700 and d3s

but when low light with high iso d700 and d3s is better
but 5d2 still got better detail than any d700 or d3s full frame

pixel is higher, noise is more.... it depends on the amount of heat disturbing the digital signals in the sensor...

thus, 5d mark II got more detail with more noise in higher ISO..but it seem not much time we will enlarge the photo for a very large poster....
