Questions about Tripods Post time: 9 月 25 日 |

Want to ask some questions about tripods,
Are all the good and stable tripods really heavy in weight?
For outdoor tripods, what is the lightest weight?
I really want to change my Minolta MX 700 (1.2 kg) tripod to a lighter one.
(Only need a tripod which is less than 1 kg).
But what brand should I look for and what is the price, I hope is not too expensive. Should I go to SSP or other places?
Thank you for your advice.

this is a tricky question really. that depends on how big your tripod is.
like my cheap 2nd hand carbon fibre one, it's also 2kg(with a metal ballhead), but it goes all the way up to about 1.8m, it is still consider to be very light.
Basically, if weight matters, go for the carbon fibre and never look back.
if money matters more, stay with the current one and get a good carbon fibre when you are ready, a good one last for life

the most important thing is to look for a hook, if you go for a light weighted one
and is the legs strong enough (hard , not elastic, so it wont' bend)

Thanks for your suggestions.
I think I will save up for a carbon fibre tripod!
Just 1 more question, if I get a carbon fibre tripod which can be lighter than 1 KG, what brand should I look for and what is the price range?
