For an accurate objective review, you need to consult an independent magazine or other (mainly foreign) websites for the data. Ultra II is fast for me. I think Minolta says in their website that Sandisk and Lexar are the 2 brands of CF that they have tested. Unless you save as RAW, saving speed should not be a problem with Ultra II on A1.

Since A1 build in 64MB buffer, you could take another shot when the card writing (red LED light up). I have both PQI 40X CF and Torica 24X CF. It is difficult to find different between them in general use.
