the software can set long side or short side, therefore each photo can be resized to same dimensions, let's say 640 x 480. Other software like Photoshop can only set the width or length. In that case the landscape photos will become 640x480 but the portraits will become 640x853.

ACD See , 平靚正，只需係Browser內點選要resize的相，然後set好要resize的大細(可以用百份比)咁就唔駛煩直度橫度問題。

You can set the quality:

File > Batch Conversion/Rename > Output format > Option
