各位好, 我係澳洲讀緊中學最後一年，出年會入大學， 想讀攝影，以我所知香港好似得理工大學有攝影degree，所以如果我考唔到理大好大機會都會留返澳洲的大學讀.. 如果有degree會唔會易D比人請，因為攝影呢行唔同其他行業，經驗同技術遠比學歷重要。 婚嫁攝影師的職責係咪負責為新人拍相, 之後用電腦汁下, 仲有其他咩工作要做??

做婚嫁攝影師，一定要識人否則難入行，致於理工大學有攝影degree可以說已經沒有了，只有設計學士先有，如要讀photographer 去Hong Kong Arts School 讀Fine Art 攝影學士及 IVE 讀Photographer先有 (如果有degree會唔會易D比人請)可以說同做打雜差不多，通常做Freeland 多，本港做攝影競爭很大，你可以拿一部DC機可以做到了，如果要走攝影去中國大陸好些。真係要學攝影跟師父做助手反而一件好事。

In Australia, a degree in Fine Art will get you the basic qualification. It is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT for you to develop an excellent portfolio along the way. The Portfolio is EVERYTHING people is asking for.

There are a few big big photo studio in Australia and they do recruitment time by time and they might ask for your degree qualification. But for majority of the photographer / studio won't care too much about your portfolio.

It is more important for you to develop your skills and technique. Also the way how do you interact with peoples, especially Aussies.

I will suggest you to start working with any photog in town. It's all about the connection and experience.

There are way too many things that you need to pick in a real-life wedding that you won't be taught in the Uni.

btw, do you have any camera and how long have you been using that for? How good would you said you are in photography? You need to build up skills that is outstanding and make photog think they really need you as an assistant.


If you are in the Uni and doing assistant work in studio, please expect you won't get pay or won't get pay much. Coz some studio got connection with Uni and they provide training to you instead. You are learning lots of skills and experience from people, so you can't expect to be paid, right? (should you pay to learn instead? =p)


At the end of the day, it comes down to whether you find a good C-Fu or not. This is what the real deals coming from. Uni can't teach you everything you need in the real working environment. You will have the basic technique from Uni, but real life working environment is a battle field to test out whether you can survive or not.


To sum up, you need to understand it is not an easy industry. It takes years to build up your portfolio and reputation.


One last good hint for you. If you are working as an assistant, NEVER give you card (business card) to the clients. Photog hate this and this is a small industry. Any assistant (or trainee) did that, they are black listed in the industry.

pierokwong兄話要讀fine art degree,這麼我有一點不明白, fine art 係藝術(eg 繪畫、雕塑) 同攝影有咩關係.. 因為我各人對繪畫、雕塑真係無咩興趣

pierokwong兄係澳洲邊到? 我係sydney. 入左U之後我會試下聽pierokwong兄講去city 搵下攝影助手黎做, 但pierokwong兄所說的build connection, 對我黎講好似無咩用.因為我讀完諗住返香港做野, 我想信我都無能力build唔到跨國connection咁勁

Although you wanna go back to work in HK. But the industry connection is very important for you.

Most of premium wedding album are from USA, and then Australia.

Also we have famous photographers in the world in Aust as well
