To live without thinking is deplorable. For a person who does not try to think the why, how and what of life is but a piece of wood drifting on a wide, wide sea, without any direction and will of its own. Indeed, to live without thinking is unimaginable. For if we should allow ourselves to be driven by our own passions, ambitions, love, hatred and by others’ suggestions without applying our own reasoning at all, we are just like that piece of wood.
