Linux的英文發音

根據Torvalds的說法，Linux的發音和「Minix」是押韻的。



「Li」中「i」的發音類似於「Minix」中「i」的發音，



而「nux」中「u」的發音類似於英文單詞「profess」中「o」的發音。



依照國際音標應該是['linэks]。



{ 'li' is pronounced with a short [ee] sound: compare prInt, mInImal etc.



'nux' is also short, non-diphtong, like in pUt.

to replace minix on my system, the result is what it is... linus' minix became linux. }
