Oh I forget to answer your question.

I've never used digital zoom with FZ-1.

Next time I'll try and see the effect.

The FZ1 is a very good camera except the grain/noise which may due to the 2mega pixel small ccd size.

As for this specific pic, there is no cropping only resized.

The whole pic is under exposed except the moon. The noise is all over the under exposed area.



Other egret pic are cropped and use photoshop to add contrast etc which generate a lot more grains.
