美利樓建於1846 年，座落於金鐘花園道(即中國銀行現址)，用作當時駐港英軍的宿舍，是香港少數僅存的古歐陸式建築物之一，為極具歷史價值的古蹟。1982年拆卸時，港府已計劃覓地將它重建，並將其三千多件花崗岩編上號碼；在1998年再由香港房屋委員會負責在赤柱重建，內部則闢作高級食肆，遊人可在此細覽遺蹟，緬懷昔日歷史。
