百年經典Planar蛻變﹣50mm f/1.4 ZA SSM（開箱篇）

前言：
提起Planar，就不能不說它的歷史。跟Anastigmat及Reversed Telephoto一樣，Planar在攝影鏡頭歷史上，有著舉足輕重的地位，足以影響整個業界發展。1817年，Carl Friedrich Gauss發明了Gauss光學結構，由單組2塊鏡片組成。1888年Bausch & Lomb的Alvan Clark將它改良，組成前後對稱2組4片的Double Guass結構。1895年Carl Zeiss Jena的Paul Rudolph將之改良，成為2組6片的Planar設計，特點是Field Curvature特低，所以取名為「Planar」（平坦）。1920年，Talyor Hobson的Horace William Lee將Planar改良，取消了對稱設計以加大光圈，成為Lee Optic，令到Double Gauss全面普及化，奠定了大光圈標準鏡的基礎。時至今日，差不多所有現代標準鏡（例如Canon 50mm f/1.2L, Leica Noctilux 50mm f/0.95）的設計都是以Lee Optic為基礎。Zeiss於1927年推出的Biotar亦是根據Lee Optic設計，後來2次大戰結束，東西德分裂，東德的Carl Zeiss Jena保留了Biotar的命名，而西德的Carl Zeiss Oberkochen則改回用Planar命名。

自1996年起，Sony和Zeiss合作，於Sony推出的攝錄機和相機上配置Zeiss鏡頭。2006年Sony成功收購Minolta SLR業務，並推出自動對焦A mount Zeiss鏡頭，包括大三元中的16-35mm & 24-70mm，經典的Distagon 24mm f/2.0，Planar 85mm f/1.4和Sonnar 135mm f/1.8，唯獨是欠缺了最受歡迎的35mm和50mm定焦，兩個我最喜愛的焦距。2013年，Sony終於推出ZA Planar 50mm f/1.4鏡頭，並配置SSM超波馬達和防塵防滴設計。對於身為定焦用家和Zeiss Fans的我，實在是天大喜訊。首批貨於六月底全球公開發售，我當然急不及待購入（剛好在DCFever有購物券，順便做了2年分期）。

開箱，沒有鏡頭袋，有點失望

Filter 72mm口徑，以50mm f/1.4鏡頭來說比較大

藍色Zeiss logo

鏡頭蓋，單買的話比沒有Zeiss logo的要貴幾十元

圓形膠hood，裹面有防反光處理

9片光圈葉

圓形光圈

金屬鏡身及對焦環，手感不錯（雖然不及ZA24-70的橡膠對焦環好），全時手動對焦，內對焦所以鏡身不會伸長（因此比較長），沒有光圈環靠機身設定

底部不像Pentax的防塵滴鏡頭有橡膠圈，大概在鏡筒內下了功夫吧

我沒有ZF版本所以不能拍外觀對照，但明顯2者設計是有所不同。規格如下：

裝上A99之後，有點大支，但重量算OK

 

初步感想：

－對焦寧靜，速度很快，比我有的ZA24-70/2.8和ZA24/2（同樣是SSM）更快
－全開光圈景深很淺，A99有時會對錯焦，而且還未支援AFD，希望新firmware會有所改善
－銳度高（我個人不太著重這方面，所以沒有刻意去試）
－色彩一貫Planar表現，濃郁而層次豐富
－立體感強
－散景亦是Planar風格呈二線性，但比其他Planar鏡頭輕微
－價錢是貴沒錯，但是A mount自動對焦50mm Zeiss定焦鏡頭只此一支，想要又負擔得起的話，絕對是好鏡，買了不會後悔

    Voigtländer is an optical company founded by Johann Christoph Voigtländer in Vienna in 1756 and is thus the oldest name in cameras. It produced the Petzval photographic lens (the fastest lens at that time: f/3.7) in 1840, and the world's first all-metal daguerrotype camera (Ganzmetallkamera) in 1841, also bringing out plate cameras shortly afterwards. It set up a branch office in Braunschweig in 1849, moving its headquarters there later. The company issued stock in 1898, and a majority of the shares were acquired by Schering in 1925.

    Over the next three decades, Voigtländer became a technology leader and the first manufacturer to introduce several new kinds of product that later became commonplace. These include the first zoom lens for 35mm still photography (36–82/2.8 Zoomar) in 1960 and the first 35mm compact camera with built-in electronic flash (Vitrona) in 1965.

    Schering sold its share of the company to the Carl Zeiss Foundation in 1956, and Zeiss and Voigtländer integrated in 1965. In 1972 Zeiss/Voigtländer stopped producing cameras, and a year later Zeiss sold Voigtländer brand to Rollei. On the collapse of Rollei in 1982, Plusfoto took over the name, selling it in 1997 to Ringfoto.

    Since 1999, Voigtländer-branded products have been manufactured and marketed by Cosina; for these, see Cosina Voigtländer.

    I have the Rollei SL QMB mount 50/1.8 it mark Zeiss planar 50/1.8 ( Make in west-Germany) and also I have the Contax 50/1.4 (C/Y mount Make in Japan).

    The 50/1.8 front element is much flat than the Contax one( Also it is much sharp than the Planar ).

    The Rollei SL QBM have a Lot of Mark. My Lens Mark Zeiss Planar 50/1.8 ( This one is NOT HFT).
    Other Mark Make by Rollei. The Following Link at bottom you can saw this Lens It mark ( Carl Zeiss Planar 50/1.8 )

    For Ultron it is org. design by Voigtlander ( Zeiss also re-design the Ultron and also call Untron, it is not same as the Rollei 50/1.8 Planar). So than I said it is Voigtlander Ultron.

    “This lens, deceivingly disguised under the Ultron name, is really the famous 7-elements Planar 1.8/50 by Erhard Glatzel and Erwin Konschak
    and has nothing to do with the previous Ultron designs for the Bessamatic and Icarex systems.
    This odd Planar lens was ported over to Voigtländer from the Rollei SL system in the time when Rollei bought the Voigtländer brand from Zeiss (1973)
    Glatzel and Konschak (Glatzel was the leader and guide of the Zeiss roster of lens designers) designed this lens directly for Rollei in the transitional period
    between the de facto end of production of the Contarex system and the birth of the SLR Contax system, when Zeiss did not have a proprietary camera system
    in production and worked only for other camera producers (Rollei and Hasselblad).
    We can only guess that the Ultron naming was applied to the lens in order to keep consistency with the naming tradition of Voigtländer lenses.”

    THe Rollei 50 1.8. It is a interesting Lens Zeiss mark it as Planar. But it is not Planar it is Voigtlander Color-Ultron
    Also The Rollei 35/2.8 Distagon is Voiglander Color-Skoparex.
