以下是我封信
Dear Apple Inc.
I had brought you iphone (iphone 3GS, 32G., white, CI-APAC, S/N 879500T93NS) on 25th Dec. 2009. Since the 16th Feb. 2010, I had put the iphone in a protective case for days. On 27th Feb. 2010, I found that the iphone was wetted. and the moisture condensed became as water droplets and accumulated in the that case, and an error massage had been shown on the screen of the iphone. I had ensured that the iphone did not placed or using in the rain or near any of the wash basin, etc. During that period of time the humidity of Hong Kong was high. I believe that the error massage was only due to the wetting iphone because of the humid climate. So I go to your service desk (Telecom Digital Services Ltd) for help. But your customer service had declined my story and said that iphone damage was due to liquid spill or submersion. And he insisted his opinion and charged HKD 2200 for the exchange an new item.
I did not accept your customer service ideas. For the following reasons:
1. I did not, do not and will not accept any exchange of my iphone. The item I bought, it is mine and it should be repaired and give me back.
2. I had carefully used the iphone. Your customer services wrong me that I had let the iphone being spilled or submersed in liquid simply by a test paper in the USB slot.
3. There is not any cap to seal the iphone ear phone slot and USB slot. (other brand had the caps for those slots) Your design of the product had not provided a sufficient protection against liquid or dust damaged, therefore you term of warranty is unfair.
Why Apple did not add water-proof design in iphone? It is comment sense, the open slots should be provided with caps, all cell-phone manufacturers do it, why Apple is different?
I am experiencing a manufacturer asking his customer to protect the unprotected copper part, the electrical current perhaps going through it, otherwise the manufacturer puts a testing paper to see the weather the customer had/had not submerge the iphone in any liquid. Who own that iphone? Apple Inc or Me. Did I rent a iphone from Apple or brought an iphone from apple?
Your Attitude toward customer is not so friendly. You are making all the iphone lover being in a situation, use your product, he shall protect the design fault and he should see it is as his fault.
