Thanks all for your comments. Now I know some prefer the bluish tint as well. Good to know.

For Gneonhk,
In thoery, the focus plate for infrared (IR) is slightly off that for visible light. This is why IR on film requires much experience and skill. This changes somewhat when the digicams come along with its great depth-of-field and greater sensitiveity of CCD towards IR.
What I found with my limited experiecen is if one steps down on the aperture setting (giving it wide depth-of-field), the focusing problem is mostly solved. Besides, IR is more often done on landscape sence and I would usually set my zoom to its widest setting. That again gives great depth-of-field. So the slight difference in focus plate becomes a non-issue.
As a matter of fact, I often leave the setting on program (P) and the autofocus works well even wide open at F2.0.
I also love the surreal feel the IR shot gives. It also gives me a way to view the world in a different light.
Mind you, not all digicams are good for IR because of their built-in filters to block out IR contamination during normal photo-taking. I read from the web than G2 can take good IR shots (but not as good as the G1 because the latter has a less effective IR filter, hence giving the G1 more sensitive to IR). Not sure about 300D though.
