NOT TO TAKE ANYTHING FOR GRANTED



I have learned in the past 8 years not to take anything for granted. Within one year I lost two people who meant more to me than anything. First was my sister she was someone that I loved and she was very special to me, but she passed away after an unsuccessful surgery when I was in Singapore for supervising a project; and then I lost my father one year to the day that I lost my most beloved. Both of these loses came very unexpectedly and in both of these instances I was never really able to say goodbye to them. I have learned to overcome a lot over the past 8 years and I truly believe that I have become not only a stronger person because of these events that have transpired in my life, but I have become a better person because of them. I have learned to appreciate the little things that most people take for granted like a smile or a touch of the hand, and we take these things for granted because we think we'll still have those things tomorrow and when we finally realize we won't see that smile again it's a hard concept to live with. We only have one life to live and none of us know when our time will be up, it's like a lease and we never know when that lease will expire, so live life to the fullest and at least you'll know you did your best to not only make yourself happy, but you've left those that were around you with many treasured memories, and remember to appreciate life today; you may not be here tomorrow, and spend time with those you love today because you may only have memories tomorrow. I really miss them very much especially my sister! I have not done anything for her when she was alive.....................
