I bought this the very first day it came out in HK. I had a EOS-1D at the time, but the full frame CMOS is too tempting.

Some pros:

- Full Frame CMOS

- Handling/Setup, Battery system etc share with the EOS-1D

- Handling is superb

- I find the metering on my 1Ds to be more 'accurate' than my 1D

- Battery efficient. I get about 300 photos on one charge.

Resolution is beyond belief

- Price, of course, but then it's only natural that you pay premium for a camera with 11MP and Full Frame CMOS sensor

- File size adds up quickly. you will need more CF/MD

- Canon stuff is just too big.

- E-TTL flash is still tricky to use.

- I wish they gave me ISO1600

Full Frame CMOS gives me the same control over my lenses as if it is a traditional 35mm film-based SLR.



Deliver very sharp & detailed images.



The ability to work the image with Photoshop provides extreme flexibility. The image quality is much better than using Nikon ED4000 scanner (running at 4000 dpi).



I am migrating to dg2 photography only if there is full frame sensor. Otherwise, I have no problem staying with 1v-hs.

The body cost me a leg and an arm !
