there are 10d and pro1 in my pocket
10d is using for the very time, however pro1 for the back-up
it is a very good machine. all in one and compact, nice for taking away anywhere, even i seldom use it before the firmware announanced

1. stunning picture quality- ultra-sharp pic and accurate color reproduction that are not achievable with other compact DCs. power of "L" lens?
2. built-in flash with reasonable strength
3. very good and accurate auto white balance
4. good look
5. compact, but "heavy" enough to hold and allow shooting at low shutter speed.
6. almost a full range zoom, importantly with a wide angle at 28mm
7. good distortion management at wide angle
8. backlit to see the status in darkness
9. ultra-portable, and all-in-one design
10. long battery life, at least 200+ shoot with flash.

1. slow USB transfer.... wonder why a top class DC is lacking a 1394 or USB2..
2. slow foucs, can't feel the freedom with USM as in SLRs..
3. terribly slow, imprecise, poor focus in dim light...
4. non-user friendly manual focus function
5. sometimes with dark corners in tele end zoom
6. though come with "L" lens, it's non-dust proof. indeed dust/ sand could easily get trapped in the lens...
7. too many noise at ISO400, marginally accepatble in ISO200
8. no image stablizing function
9. no simultaneous JPEG+RAW
10. no mechanical zoom, strange feeling with the mecho-electric zoom...
11. funny designed filter adaptor?! i think most users attach at least a protector filter to protect the precious lens from dust... but it's so funny that dust/ sand can get in touch with the lens though the holes of adaptor!
