樓主其實想知邊方面好呢?
sharpness? color? range? aperture? bokeh? 好多好多o野喎...
有一樣17-40 一定好d 就係個圈o既顏色... =p
除o左色水... 外型... 對焦聲音/速度外...
ching 覺得17-40有邊方面優勝? 請指教.

A16 just the motor sound is large. If ching accepted no problem.
Go ahead to use. Otherwise 17-40 is better.

And A16 AF is slower, especially at dark area.

If it is not the problem, then A16 ( f/2.8 is really cool )

I have both. A16 is better for general purpose.

17-40L is a pretty bad lens as is not sharp. I only use it on FF for the ultra wide need in rare occassions.

I have both lens, I can share my feedback as follows.
A16 upside
Selling price is about half of Canon 17-40
You can find 5 years warranty from some store
Very sharp under sun night
Range is better than Canon17-40

A16 downside
Focus speed is slower (sometimes it is just too slow)
The picture color is not as warm as L lens

17-40mm
1. 有USM 用開普通鏡感覺正到爆,快而無聲,不經不覺間已對焦 好大程度因為USM而買
2. 鏡身好靚,刻字等感覺皆良好
3. 送蓮花形遮光罩,少有
4. 因為快,手感好,所以影snap好好用
5. 唔怕佢入水,落雨你就知有幾好
6. 好黑都對焦得好快(唔知關唔關部機事-用400D)
7. 最抵的L-鏡, $5250@ 鐳射
8. 新手的我亦能感到其畫質的分別
9. 全時對焦(對完之後可再轉動對焦環)好好玩,但其實暫時實際作用不大
10. 有無限遠對焦刻度

我見canon支17-40收到5.6都ok
當收到8以經好利
A16就一般
除非你想要2.8
如果畫質先诀就一定係canon

不過c17-40同A16都唔同價位
1支有防塵防雨水L鏡有升無減小3元之1
要比都揾支(B005)比

Thanks for the interesting site. Very informative.

Before comparing, one need one to set both camera setting to 50D to make the result meaningful. Plus, I always like Tamron color better as Canon color is too warm most of the time.
