This is a place call Mungo lake which is located in the west of Sydney
about 1000km ( about 12 hours drive from Sydney) The Lake is dry and
the evidence shows that human occupation of the area began around
50,000 years ago.
What I was standing and took this photo is a area of erosion led to
the formation of the remarkable "lunette" known as the Walls of China
that dominates the landscape and reveals so much about the early
Aboriginal use of the area.
This unique form "lunette" sand dune spread out about 30km lying along
North to South on Mungo Naitonal Park. It impressed me as a form of
huge white sand wall when I was standing 10km away. It took about 1/2
hours to drive near there from my camping site. It was a dry, hot
evening and I was waiting and captured this magic moment of sunset to
present for you.
