---Review---
A balance of night sky scene mixed with a selected portion of plantation, both sublimed in a splendid combination of contrasting colours. The reddish purple blurring around the tree structure has found its way into the white clouds that contrasts with it to great extremes.
A large upper portion of the photograph is reserved for the sky- a stylistic resemblance to the typical Northern Baroque (17th century) landscape painting. There are a number of differences though. There is absolutely no emphasis on any human activities, so the whole photo was, right at the beginning, reserved as a landscape photograph with no genre elements. The patches of clouds at the bottom, contrasting with the dark sky, resembles the Chinese ink painting, with Air reserved in the right place. As the medium of Art is a photograph rather than a painting, the structural composition is more of a natural kind than an artificial one. This shows a combination of classical static art composition techniques, modern techniques, and of course, Teddy Cheung's own personal preferences.
The dark bluish sky and violent movement of clouds suggest the feeling of an approaching storm- a reflection of Teddy Cheung's emotions right at that time?
