【 Leicameter MR black paint – Evolution 】
Both MR-2 & MR-4 have b.p. versions:

(1) MR-2 has 2 batches.
Early: case, lower dial etc. are [ black painted on chrome] (Pic.2).
Late : only case is chrome (Pic 3).

(2) MR-4 : Full brass, hence much more sought after.

Further, MR-2 is aesthetically less pleasing due to its extruding meter switch (Pic 3), that collides w/ M4’s tilt crank rewinder, hence the MR-4. It works on M2/3/4.

Owners of M2/3 b.p. also prefer MR-4 (Pic 4). I looks beautiful on M3 b.p.

MR-4’s meter switch is much more stylish & elegant in use on M4 (Pic 5).

【物品/Item】
Due to its scarcity, beauty & utility value, fakes are now on market.

This one is real, confirmed by ROLLEICA™ after disassembly:

Real b.p. version: interior is also brass (unchromed)
Chrome version: interior is chromed. (Pic 6).

Current fakes have b.p. exterior but chromed interior and removing chrome inside will leave many scratches. So, checking the interior surface can identify its authenticity.

現時的假貨，系將chrome版的電鍍打磨之後焗漆。因case蓋內側不易打磨（因易損壞內測零件）且打磨會留下大量擦痕，因此造假者會選擇不打磨內側，因此假貨case蓋內側仍系chrome，即使打磨也會留下大量擦痕，因此拆解後，便能判斷真偽。
