優點:
CAMERA BUILDING
- 3Mpixel + 2X zoom + AF-beam are the selling points.
- Using the new DiGic DSP processor which improve very much in the power management and image handling. This processor used in the G3 and S45 too.
- Very solid and well constructed, always consider the metal or aluminium built, because it would not easily slip off when you are holding it.
- All buttons are easy-to-access, especially the scroll button (for zooming) during playback mode.
AUTO FOCUS (AiAF)
- 9 points auto focusing system works better than 3 points in v2.
- High precision during day shot. I guess it detects the bright spots and focuses accordingly. Thanks to the Canon scene prediction algorithm using fuzzy theory.
- If you found AiAF does not work as expected, turn it off, and use the spot matering.
- The AF-beam will light up before the flash lamp, helps a lot to capture dark objects at night. You won't have a dimmed photo shot at night.
- If you are trying to shoot dark objects at far distance, change to manual settings, set shutter speed to 1", ISO50. This would give you a better picture, instead of using the AF-beam.
ISO SENSITIVITY
- This is similar to the intensity amplification. The much you have the more noises will be in the photo.
- V3 provides ISO50, 100, 200, 400.
- Some experts claim ISO50 is actually equivalent to ISO100. In fact, you hardly notice noise in the photo with ISO50.
- Use ISO400 only if you want to capture object at very far distance. Bear in mind, you have to sacrify the photo quality as very much of noise generated. Usually we use ISO50 for day shot.
LONG SHUTTER SPEED
- This is a very important manual control to digital camera. If you not found this feature better not buy it!
- V3 allows shutter speed control from 1 to 15 sec. This allow you capture object at dark scene.
- Using long shutter speed when shoting fast moving object, will let you see the tail of the shadow running behind the object... Nice effect!
PHOTO EFFECT
- V3 provides several types of photo effect, e.g. vivid, sepia, b/w, and etc. which eliminate the photo retouching process.
PLAYBACK ZOOM
- v3 provides playback zoom from 2x to 10x. This is important feature also, it helps you to check whether there is noise in the photo. You have a chance to re-shoot if noise found in the photo.
PHOTOSTITCH
- A unique feature helps to capture several shots, then later merge them through software. Similar to Casio couple shot mode.
- This is a great feature!
2X ZOOM OR 3X ZOOM
- Personally speaking, 3x zoom does not give very much room of improvement in zooming. They are quite similar, unless you go for 4x zoom, then only notice the difference.
- Just forget the digital zoom, it creates noise to your photo only ! Try to use image cropping instead.
BATTERY LIFE
- It is ok, 150 shots with 30% flash on.
(better than S330 as it will shut down IMMEDIATELY when the low battery sign is on)
- Takes 120 minutes to fully charge the battery.
MOVIE MODE
- Very nice and smooth movies.
- 3Mpixel + 2X zoom + AF-beam are the selling points.

唔單止外觀掂, 影出黎0的相都好掂, 我買左V3兩個月, 影左過千張相, 張張都好掂.
缺點:
樓下的DCDENNIS, 0係咁多個用家評價內, 得你部機0的影像質索有問題...

1. Ultra compact size with a $60 dollars bag (V2's bag) can be with me everyday to office
2. Easy for beginer to use but no advance function
3. Fast switch on/off. Overall fast speed with SAN Disk 128MB
4. Same body as Digital IXUS i.e. no much improvement
5. Battery long lasting with 128MB card after recording photo and movie with playback and LCD switched on
6. Good software to upload image
7. Print at fotomax with fine and the highest resolution is similar to traditional camera (But only a little bit not sharp and seem to be added "soft-len" after photoing
8. Original battery at $290 but "Power Quest" only cost $150 i.e. cheap battery but I won't buy due to it's enough for 128MB RAM (I will buy one if additonal RAM is bought)
9. Video quality is smooth while playing back through TV. Voice is also very clear
10. 15-month waranty is good
11. A wonderful bag bought from Japan at $110 (Silver/black) can allow me put the camera round my neck.
