優點:
large aperture 2.0 really useable and focus is fast at dim light!
from f4 to f7 can give sharp image from centre to edge
no vignetting at all ranges i.e. 70-200mm ( 35mm equivalent )
bokeh is beautiful
good for portrait
large size can give a professional feel even though my skill is at novice stage
after taking out the lens collar and hold with my hand and switch off i.s. and use single focus point to focus model's eye can give sharp image without blurring
缺點:
1600 g is very heavy, and in most occasions FL50 flash is installed at the body = 2500g
however, this combination can shoot models under strong light background and also at dim conditon.
To hande the system suceesfully,I swim two times a week to improve my physicque so that I can hold this system for a long period of time. Up to now, I can hold the system without a feeling of fatigue.
Price is very expensive but when you shoot photos at dim night without flash, you might find this lens is versatile.
評價:
I have seen some photos and other tests of canon 70-200mm is f2.8, it undoubtedly good for shooting beautiful models but on the other hand , because this lens tends to be designed for softer image, it might not suitable for taking landscape.
In this lens, the sharpness of this lens tends to be in the middle of nikon and canon, might be PS is required for shooting models.
I have no regret of buying this lens and up to now even though you use 70-200mm f2.8 at full-frame body, vignetting problem still an issue and would be the worst at 200mm!! Some jpeg output on DSLR body itself can reduce vignetting, howver, it still cannot totally solve the problem.
Even though the aperture reuced to f4 or even f5.6, vignetting on full-frame DSLR still apparent.
In return when I used f2.0 on E-510 which can give almost vignetting free on images and equivalent to f4 at full-frame. That is the highest aperture useable for DSLR. Therefore, I still strongly agree that my decision to spend so much money on this lens is correct. Of course, a further reduction of $3000 is better for others to consider this lens.
For 4/3 system, people should enjoy 2x for shooting tele but at the same time the depth of field increase a lot. While considering that ccd/cmos reuqires vertical light to enter into it, conventional lens can no longer be used for DSLR, that's why they are selling at lower price and users have to bear the adverse result. The design of this huge lens is to collect more vertical light into the ccd/cmos so as to avoid vignetting.
It was no double a super high grade lens I owned.
