優點:
- Very sharp and excellent color for close up and macro works
- Bokeh is beautiful and smooth, very easy to isolate the subject from the backgroud.
- Excellent build quality, solid and durable
- Focus is dead accurate, this is most critical for macro photography because the lightest focus off will be magnified on the tiny subject.
- In my opinion, 180mm is the best macro lens for photographing butterflies.
缺點:
- Expensive (but worth it).
- No IS, I have steady hands but I still hope that version 2 will be incorporated with IS.
- Since this lens has an old design there is no ass jacket to prevent the dust and moisture from coming in.
-AF performance can be better, sometimes I'll need to wait nearly 2 seconds for searching the correct focus. Sometimes, however, focus can be achieved very quickly.
評價:
I went to DCFxxxxx to buy the Sigma 150/2.8 OS, I tried 2 samples on my 1D4 and both of them have some degrees of front/back focus issues. The images were not razor sharp. For a macro lens, I believe the optical performance is most important and I can't accept the less sharp pictures from Sigma. Also, there is minor 'play' on the focus ring and the hand feel was no good. I then tried the Canon 180 and the sharpness was outstanding. I can tell absolutely which picture was from which lens. The price difference is $4500 but I was willing to pay more for the Canon.
I took the lens to the Wetland Park and the pictures were just outstanding! I have no regret at all for buying the Canon. Yes it lacks the OS, f2.8, focuses slower and weights heavier but it delivers the required sharpness you need.
