The 2021 Dalsheimer Bürgel Spätburgunder WongAmat is the baby from Jan Wong Raumland, the husband of Katharina Raumland, who started this wine with the 2019 vintage, at first for the family only. From 1,829 square meters, fermented with 10% whole clusters in stainless steel and aged in Taransaud barriques for 15 months, of which two-thirds were new, the wine opens with a pure, fresh and cherry-scented bouquet with ripe and juicy fruit aromas. On the palate, this is a remarkably finessed and light-footed Pinot with silky tannins, refreshing mineral acidity and a respectable crisp, aromatic, palate-cleansing finish. This is everything but a powerful or rich Pinot, but it's a 2021 vintage without pretending to be anything else than a finessed Pinot. 11.5% stated alcohol. Natural cork. Tasted at the domaine in July 2023
